This wallhanging began from a photograph I took of a home in League City, Texas. It was built in 1913 by J.E. Hayes. Its classic design and inviting front porch became the focus for the design. The owners have painstakingly restored it to its current splendor and graciously invited this artist to a wonderful tour of the interior; southern hospitality at its finest.
I created the quilt using my Picture Piecing technique. There are three animals hidden in the quilt, a rabbit at the base of the tree and two squirrels in the upper part of the tree. |

This rabbit is the detail which appears on the back side of the notecards featuring In the Southern Tradition. |
