Cynthia England combines aspects of painting, stained glass and needle-work in a unique quilting technique she calls Picture Piecing. The entire line of England Design quilt patterns is based on this technique which allows her to create detailed, realistic imagery in patterns that are entirely machine pieced, using only straight seams, no "set-ins".

Picture-Piecing Patterns by England Design
Cynthia has created a variety of quilt patterns ranging from Beginner to Advanced. The patterns are categorized by type of imagery: Florals and Birds, Woodland Critters, Seasonal, Nostalgia, Expressions, Small Landscapes, Scenic America and Beginner. All of the currently available patterns are pictured below. Click on any of the pictures to see the pattern shown, or to see an entire category of patterns click the Series titles.

Each pattern includes a printed full-color photograph, a full-sized master pattern, full-sized iron-on (freezer paper) templates and detailed, illustrated instructions.Three levels are indicated on the pattern descriptions: beginner, intermediate and advanced. Beginner patterns have larger pieces. Advanced patterns are not harder, they just contain smaller pieces and are a bigger time commitment. The technique is exactly the same. We offer Fabric Kits for most of our quilt patterns, just look for the them on each pattern page. Please note: Our fabric kits do not include the pattern.
