Ruth took a class with Cynthia when she taught at the Foothills Piecemakers Quilting Guild in Greenville, South Carolina. After completing the quilt from that class, Ruth went on to make the quilt above for a fundraiser for the Carolina Raptor Center. Ruth writes, "I also bought two kits, Land That I Love and Lakeside Retreat, the patterns of which I wanted to use to make a new wall hanging. I volunteer at the Carolina Raptor Center where I work with permanently disabled raptors (eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, and vultures) and do educational programs. They have a fundraiser every year and as part of that, have a silent auction. I wanted to make a wall hanging that could be used to raise money through the silent auction." Ruth is happy to report that her quilt raised $ 235 in the silent auction. Congratulations, Ruth!
