Bavarian Tranquil Lake

This quilt entitled "Bavarian Tranquil Lake" is based on Cynthia's "Tranquil Lake," pattern but Beth modified the mountain to be the Zugspitz above Grainau in Bavaria. Beth describes her process, saying "I used a line drawing from my photo of the Zugspitz and the Eibsee, the lake below the Zugspitz. The contour of your lake and mine almost matched exactly so it was easy to fit."

She goes on to say "I live in Great Falls, Virginia and am a retired government economist. I've been quilting for about 10 years and have finally found my favorite technique, picture piecing, which allows me to combine my two loves--quilting and photography. "
