Original Picture Pieced Quilt

Jan created this quilt for her sister-in-law using Cynthia's Picture Piecing technique. She says she and her sister-in-law enjoyed picking up fabrics for this quilt during travels from Napa, CA to Vancouver, B.C., Cranbrook, B.C. and Kimberley, B.C. and beyond.

Jan shared a few details of her process, saying "I still have the drawings and pattern pieces I developed when I 'sectioned' the drawing into blocks. Next quilt using your technique I will make some changes in the way I section the picture, but this project was so big I couldn't really think of a more manageable way to do it! I added the appliqued wildflowers along the bottom (definitely not to scale) because my sister just loves wildflowers."
